Launch of the Student Experience Design Lab

In January, eCampusOntario hosted a Student-Experience Design Studio, where 25 students from across the province came together to look at the present and future of online and technology-enabled learning in Ontario.

Students exercised design thinking through hands-on, story-driven activities, which led to a number of innovative ideas that were explored further at the SXD Kickstart event. Throughout February and March, eCampusOntario connected SXD Studio participants with key industry partners to share in a four-week ideation process to build on their ideas.

Students and industry partners presented prototypes to approximately 150 students at the MaRS Discovery District for feedback and assessment. Four themes came out of SXD Kickstart: Virtual Reality, Learning Systems, Northern Access and Experiential Learning. The four-week ideation process and kickstart event concluded with the announcement of the SXD Lab, Canada’s first student-experience design lab.
