Keynote speakers announced for Micro-certification Forum 2020

eCampusOntario is thrilled to announce three keynote speakers for the Micro-certification Forum, taking place on February 21, 2020:

  • Kathleen DeLaski, Founder and President, Education Design Lab;
  • Anne-Marie Fannon, Director of the Professional Development Program at the University of Waterloo;
  • Kerri Moreno, Client Manager Higher Education, IBM.

Each keynote will bring a unique perspective from their sector, addressing both opportunities and challenges ahead for building a nimble skills recognition system that evolves alongside the changing needs of Ontario’s workforce and society.

For the remainder of the event, attendees will learn from post-secondary institutions and industry partners as they describe their experience identifying gaps in the workforce and leveraging micro-certification to address those challenges. Fourteen college and university pilot project teams will present their work executing micro-certification projects to fill gaps in human skills, technology skills, health and human services, manufacturing and natural resources.

If you can’t make it to the forum in person, don’t worry! Portions of the event will be livestreamed and you can always join the digital conversation using the hashtag #MicroCert2020. Stay tuned to the hashtag for information about how to join the event online. Please note that you do not need to register for a ticket if you are only attending online.
