Search Tips and Tricks

Having trouble finding what you are looking for? Use these simple search tricks to get results:

AND, and

Use any of these operators to get search results which combine two keywords. For example: “Abnormal and Psychology”

OR, or, | (pipe character)

Use any of these operators to get search results that contain either of the keywords used. For example: “Abnormal OR Psychology”

“____”

Use quotes around key words or phrases like Abnormal Psychology to get search results which have the keywords in that order only.

<____>

Use < >, like <Abnormal Psychology> and results that will only show where the two keywords are within 10 words of each other.

NOT

Use NOT to get search results that exclude one key word. For example: Abnormal NOT Psychology will return results that have "Abnormal" but not "Psychology"

~ (tilde character)

Use ~ to return results that match the keyword as well as keywords that are related (such as synonyms).
